By solution
SmartTube
| Platform | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Android TV | Supported | Primary supported platform. Installed as a sideloaded app on Android TV / Google TV devices. |
| Android | Unsupported | The project's own documentation states phones and tablets are not supported — it technically runs on them, but with no official support and no phone-oriented interface. |
| Samsung TV | Unsupported | Samsung's Tizen TVs do not run Android apps, so SmartTube cannot be installed directly. |
| Fire TV | Partial | Supported on Fire TV devices released before October 2025. Newer devices (starting with Fire TV Stick 4K Select) run Amazon's own VegaOS instead of Android and are not compatible. |
| Firefox | Unsupported | SmartTube is a native Android app, not a browser extension, so it has no Firefox equivalent. |
ReVanced
| Platform | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Android | Supported | Primary supported platform. Built as a patched version of the official Android YouTube app. |
| Android TV | Unknown | ReVanced is primarily built and tested for phones and tablets. Android TV builds exist in the wider community but are not the project's primary focus. |
| Samsung TV | Unsupported | Samsung Tizen TVs cannot run patched Android APKs. |
| Fire TV | Unknown | Not a primary target platform; behavior on Fire TV is not consistently documented by the project. |
| Firefox | Unsupported | ReVanced patches an Android app package and has no relationship to desktop browsers. |
TizenTube
| Platform | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung TV | Supported | Built specifically for Samsung's Tizen-based smart TVs. The current release installs as a standalone app; an older release ran as a TizenBrew module instead. |
| Android | Unsupported | TizenTube is built for Samsung's Tizen platform and has no Android counterpart. See TizenTube Cobalt for the Android-based equivalent. |
| Android TV | Unsupported | Android TV devices do not run Tizen, so TizenTube itself does not apply here. TizenTube Cobalt is the separate project built for Android TV and Google TV. |
| Fire TV | Unsupported | Fire TV does not run Tizen. TizenTube Cobalt is the related project that targets Fire TV instead. |
| Firefox | Unsupported | TizenTube is a TV app, not a browser extension. |
TizenTube Cobalt
| Platform | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Android TV | Supported | Primary supported platform, according to the project's documentation — it recommends a Google TV certified device for the best experience. |
| Fire TV | Partial | Supported on Android-based Fire TV devices (the current release supports Android 7 or higher). Like other Android apps, it's not expected to work on newer Fire TV devices running Amazon's VegaOS instead of Android. |
| Samsung TV | Unsupported | TizenTube Cobalt exists specifically to bring TizenTube's approach to non-Tizen devices — on an actual Samsung Tizen TV, use the original TizenTube instead. |
| Android | Unknown | The project is built and documented around TV-certified devices; phone/tablet behavior isn't clearly documented. |
| Firefox | Unsupported | TizenTube Cobalt is a native app container (built on Cobalt), not a browser extension. |
TizenBrew
| Platform | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung TV | Supported | Requires Tizen 3.0 or newer (Samsung TVs from 2017 onward), per the project's own documentation. |
| Android | Unsupported | TizenBrew is a Tizen-only module loader for Samsung TVs; it has no Android app of its own. |
| Android TV | Unsupported | Android TV devices don't run Tizen. TizenTube Cobalt is the comparable option for Android TV and Google TV. |
| Fire TV | Unsupported | Fire TV does not run Tizen. |
| Firefox | Unsupported | TizenBrew runs on the TV itself, not as a browser extension. |
Firefox + uBlock Origin
| Platform | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Firefox | Supported | Content-blocking extensions run natively in Firefox on desktop and Android. |
| Android | Partial | Available through Firefox for Android, which supports a curated set of extensions including uBlock Origin. |
| Android TV | Unknown | Firefox is not officially available on Android TV / Google TV, and extension support in unofficial builds is inconsistent. |
| Samsung TV | Unsupported | Samsung Tizen TVs do not run Firefox. |
| Fire TV | Unsupported | Firefox is not available on Fire TV's app store. |
